Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring on the fishing trip?

Fishing can be a lot of fun, providing great life memories for you, your friends and your family. To make sure you get the most out of the experience, it's important that you are well prepared for the trip.

Here's a checklist of items to bring:

  • Appropriate clothing. It can get very cold and windy at sea or very bright and sunny.

  • Wet weather gear, if it looks like it's going to rain.

  • Camera or video recorder to to grab a happy snap of that big fish!

  • Slip, Slop and Slap. Sunglasses (especially polarised) and a wide brim hat are great for combating the sunlight. Remember, the sun reflects off the water at sea too!

  • If you wish, you can bring your lucky fishing rod!

What's required to make a booking?

A 50 % deposit is required. IF THE NEED ARISES, requiring the Captain to cancel a charter due to DANGEROUS WEATHER conditions on the day of your charter, a RE-BOOKING or a FULL REFUND will be offered to all passengers.

What if I decide to cancel my charter?

For any cancellation, we will endeavor to fill your booking. If we are unsuccessful, Terrigal Bluewater Fishing Charters will debit your Visa or MasterCard the full amount of the cost of your booking.

If you cancel within 24 hours of the vessel departure date, full payment must be made.

Gift Vouchers are forfeited if booking is cancelled or transferred within 7 days of booking date.

If passengers do not turn up on the day, full payment must be made on any individual and group bookings.

Due to carona virus pandemic.

if the goverment imposes any form of restrictions like the lockdown, we will reallocate your charter to a alternate date.

What happens if it's raining?

If the forecast is for rain or if it is raining, there is often less rain at sea than on the land and cloud cover improves the catch rate on many species. We suggest that you bring a rain coat.

Is there BYO?

Yes, you can bring your own fishing gear,  food, drinks, sunscreen, etc. Alcohol is permitted in moderation, any signs of unsafe behavior, i.e. lurid and unsociable behavior will result in the trip being terminated prematurely by the captain.
